HSE2 Curriculum

Biblical Training

The Bible states, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” HSE2 is designed to be a highly interactive and experiential learning environment. It is our belief that knowledge gained should be applied practically while developing new attitudes, habits and skills in a hands-on way. Each class will be taught by those who are actively living out their faith in ministry. Some of those teachers may include: Dr. Mike MacIntosh, Dr. Lu Wing, Dr. Chapin Marsh, Chaz Yandall, Brooks Fuller, Steve Gonzales, Phillip MacIntosh, Wayne Kinde, James Gordon and Jeff Kuhn.

Experiential Learning

HSE2 Wilderness Trip

The purpose of the wilderness trip is to take students out of their normal environment in order to experience God in a fresh way, establish loving relationships with their classmates, take new steps of faith, and grow in their servant-leadership. Time spent hiking, cooking at bonfires, and engaging in powerful discussions and teachings makes this a dynamic and life-changing experience.

Practicum

Part of what makes HSE2 such a unique and powerful discipleship experience is the opportunity to apply the Biblical lessons and principles that are learned throughout the course. The six-day practicum will provide the students with opportunities to put into practice the training they have received during the program in a new environment.

Local San Diego Outreaches

Local weekly outreaches allow students to participate in hands-on ministry on a weekly basis. These outreach opportunities expose students to a variety of ministries which include: sharing testimonies, passing out food to the poor, and street witnessing throughout the beach and downtown areas of San Diego.
